Where do Selsey Shellfish come from?

Selsey Shellfish Direct fish from East Beach, Selsey in West Sussex. We have 3 boats called Shearwater, Toby Rock and Zeus and a crew of 9.

How do I place an order?

You can contact us by post, telephone or email. We check our emails regularly and will get back to you within 24 hours. If we are not answering the phone it is likely we are at sea. If this is the case please leave a message on the answer phone and we will call you back.

How will my fresh shellfish be delivered?

You can order your fresh shellfish to be delivered live or cooked. If you choose live, your shellfish will be packaged in boxes of gel ice. Provided you keep the boxes sealed live stocks will remain fresh for 24-36 hours.

How do I know Selsey Shellfish is safe?

Selsey Shellfish Direct is fully licensed by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Registration Number 100595. This ensures that we adhere to the government standards within the fisheries policy.

Is there a delivery charge?

Selsey Shellfish Direct operate a next day delivery service. Delivery is charged at £10 per 20kg box of fresh shellfish and any orders over £150 receive free delivery.

Is there anywhere I can go to buy Selsey Shellfish?

We are part of the Thames Valley Farmers Market Co-operative and attend a number of their markets. Please get in touch to find out where we will be in the next few months.

How do I reduce my food miles?

Food miles refer to the distance produce travels before reaching the end consumer. By buying from local suppliers you can reduce the harmful effects of long distance distribution on the environment, support local businesses and get fresher, tastier food.

What do I do if I am not happy with my fresh shellfish?

If you are not entirely satisfied with your order, contact us as soon as possible on 07977 511578 or email us. We treat complaints, though very rare, seriously and use them to continually improve our service. We aim to arrive at a solution within 24 hours.
